How Can I Resolve My Problems With Internet Explorer, Or Should I Just Get Another Browser?

Submitted by admin on October 2, 2009 – 4:32 am12 Comments

I am haveing problems with Internet Explorer closeing all by itself. I have the new beta version and it used to work fine but now it closes for no reason. I am looking into firefox, but that has given me problems when i have had it before or maybe Opera or Safari. What is the best choice or how can I repair my IE?

First off, don;t listen to anyone that tells you one browser is better than the other. Pick a browser that you like, and since you already tried Firefox and went back to IE, my guess is that IE is the one for YOU.
Second, if you still have a beta version, get the final release – it has been out for a while now. Here is the like to M$ to get it: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/down…
You may want to roll back the version you have to 6 first, then install the latest release. You can do that in Add/Remove programs – you may have to check the box that says Show Updates up top – I can’t remember. Anyway, its just a rollback and after you do it, IE6 will be back on your machine.
I would also check to see what “toolbars” you have installed on your machine. If you are using the Yahoo Toolbar, I know that there can be some issues with IE closing when that is running. Especially when you click on links. Like the page you clicked on will close and the link will open in a new page.
I have nothing against Yahoo or Google toolbar, but I usually recommend getting rid of both. Even if you don;t see them, check the add/remove programs for any.

There are the steps, follow the next if the problem is not solved by the first
    1) run ccleaner (optional)
run the following two menus of ccleaner
cleaner > Analyze > Run Cleaner
Issues > Scan For Issues > Fix Selected Issues
    2) Uninstall IE7
The IE7 uninstallation goes as follows
    -enable to view hidden files
(start > control panel > Folder options > View > Show hidden files and folders > apply >ok)
    -click on Start > Run
type the following (ther are additional spaces after to make them display on this page, you can skip them while typing)
    c: windows ie7 spuninst spuninst.exe
press ok, Follow the on-screen instructions, after completion double-click IE to check that IE6 is working.
    3) If the browser is IE6, and still has problems then run system file checker
    4) Use Firefox (optional)http://bestofrest.blogspot.com/2006/11/c…http://mypchelp.blogspot.com/2006/12/sys…http://ffbrowser.blogspot.com/2006/12/fi…

Opera is light, fast, stable and has mousegestures. I used Firefox, but found it a tad bit slow. Tried Opera and has not looked back ever since.

Try fixing it first. Go to Control Manager, then to Add/Remove Programs and click on Add/Remove Microsoft Internet Explorer. Then, it will give you an option to fix it.
If you still have problems, disable the add-ons (Tools >> Manage Add-Ons) until you find the one that is causing you trouble.

The new IE7 is horrible! Caused all kinds of problems with my computer that took days to fix and figure out. I got Modzilla Firefox and it works great!

    try opera 9.1–better than firefox

IE is a nightmare. Use Firefox by Mozilla. It’s awesome. I use their email program too (Thunderbird). The link is below.
