Dial Up Conection Problem???

hey
my cousin has dial up and asked me to fix it as it it wont connect to the internet. the computer can find the internet and says it is workin bu it wont let me connect. i rang BT and the gave me a user name and password but after thatit still dosent work i also spent £15 on the phone to them which sucks can any one please help??

    you main problem my simply be 2 fold either the numbers you are caslling are always busy and you simply cna not get through or it is possible the numberi s no longer vaild for dia up csllyourprovider they will give you a current listo flocal numbers to use
